This type of visa is intended for foreigners who plan to reside in Spanish territory in order to work remotely for a company not located in Spain using exclusively informatics, telematics or telecommunication means.
The employed foreigner can only work for company located outside Spain.
The self-employed foreigner can also work for companies located in Spain, as long as the percentage of such work does not reach over 20$ of the total of its activities.
In order to be issued with this type of visa, it is necessary to be in possession of a graduate or post-graduate degree from prestigious universities, professional training and business schools of recognized prestige or to prove a minimum of three years of professional experience.

The legal period for reaching a decision is of 10 days as of the day after the application submission date, not counting the time that elapses between the sending of visa applications from the BLS office to the Spanish Embassy and vice versa. The Embassy of Spain only accepts the pre-applications received by BLS when it has physically received the applications and the visa fee has effectively entered the Embassy's bank account. The processing period begins to count from the date of admission in the visa computer system of the Embassy of Spain.
